Conference Highlights

On November 14, 2019, the Innovation Fund Provincial Oversight Committee (IFPOC) will be hosting its 4th Innovation Fund Showcase at MaRS in Toronto. The Innovation Fund provides physicians at Academic Health Sciences Centres seed funding for innovative projects for health care delivery. Since 2008, the Innovation Fund has provided over $10M/year to academic physicians across the Province.

This year, the Innovation Fund Showcase will highlight the best projects demonstrating innovative methods of care delivery and the use of technology and artificial intelligence to facilitate those new approaches. We will have speakers from the Academic Health Sciences Centres, the Vector Institute, the Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care and Dr. Toby Cosgrove, formerly CEO of the Cleveland Clinic and now Executive Advisor to the Google Cloud Healthcare as a keynote speaker, with another keynote being presented by Avi Goldfarb, the Rotman Chair in Artificial Intelligence and Healthcare, University of Toronto.

The Showcase will be an opportunity to network and to review the best projects, meet the academic physician project leaders from across the Province, and discuss new approaches with research physicians, hospital CEOs and leaders, and MOHLTC colleagues.
