Dr Doug Sinclair joined St Michaels as the executive vice president and chief medical officer in January, 2010. He has responsibility for four clinical programs, medical affairs and leading the corporate agenda for quality. “St. Michaels’s is a place where the mission and values are lived every day by the staff and physicians”, he says. “It is a place where transformation of health care delivery can happen.”
Dr. Sinclair graduated from the Faculty of Medicine at the University of Toronto in 1980, and completed residency programs in Family Medicine and Emergency Medicine. He spent 22 years in Halifax Nova Scotia, in a number of progressive leadership and academic roles, including the founding Head of the Department of Emergency Medicine at Dalhousie University, Vice President of Medical Services at the Queen Elizabeth II Health Sciences Centre, and most recently, Associate Dean of Continuing Medical Education at the Faculty of Medicine and Chief of Pediatric Emergency Medicine at the IWK Health Sciences Centre.
