Leanne Casaubon
Dr. Casaubon completed her medical training at Dalhousie University in 1999 and went on to Neurology Residency training (1999-2004) followed by a Stroke Fellowship (2004-2007) at the University of Toronto. She also completed a Master of Science degree (2005-2007) with a focus in Clinical Epidemiology.
Dr. Casaubon is an Associate Professor of Medicine, University of Toronto. She is a Clinician Investigator researcher and Neurologist in the Division of Neurology Stroke Program at the University Health Network’s (UHN) Toronto Western Hospital (TWH). Dr. Casaubon is the Director of the TIA and Minor Stroke (TAMS) Unit at UHN-TWH.
Dr. Casaubon’s clinical and academic interests include developing and evaluating patient care models for improving stroke care and secondary stroke prevention, as well as stroke outcomes research. In her work, Dr. Casaubon has developed expertise in best practices and quality improvement, including through leading the 2012-13 and 2014-15 updates of the Canadian Stroke Best Practice Recommendations – Hyperacute Care and Acute Care sections. Dr. Casaubon is also involved with the Cardiac Care Network – Stroke Services (formerly the Ontario Stroke Network, OSN) as Best Practices Champion and was a Director on the Board of Directors of the former OSN.
