Virginia Walley
Dr. Virginia Walley is originally from Deep River, Ontario in the Ottawa Valley. She trained in medicine and pathology at the University of Western Ontario, and in Health Administration at the University of Colorado and at the Schulich School of Business.
She has been Professor of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine at the University of Ottawa and at Dalhousie University, and is currently appointed at the University of Toronto.
She has been the Chief of Labs in Peterborough, Halifax and Ottawa. She is the author of over 150 scientific publications, focused principally on cardiovascular disease and quality assurance.
Currently, Dr. Walley is the Ontario Medical Director LifeLabs, Canada’s largest community laboratory.
Dr. Walley has served on the Canadian Medical Association Board, and for the last 10 years has been a Board member of the Ontario Medical Association. This year, she assumed the position of President of the OMA.
