MAJOR CONTRIBUTIONS TO SCIENCE AND/OR HEALTH CARE DELIVERY
Conducted two seminal clinical trials, published in the Canadian Medical Association Journal (CMAJ) that de-implemented the use of oral morphine in favor of ibuprofen in children with musculoskeletal injuries and post-operative pain. Developed a non-invasive, pain-free approach to imaging in children with forearm fractures using point-of-care ultrasound (POCUS). Established the effectiveness of acetaminophen in children with functional abdominal pain. Established the safety of opioid analgesia and procedural sedation in children undergoing reduction of ileocolic intussusception.
