AREA OF RESEARCH

Evelyn has an interest in socially excluded populations and how they interact with the emergency department. Equity, Diverity and Inclusion projects and research have been a part of her career for the past 5 years. She looks forward to working on related projects and branching into projects focused on the intersection of equity and the care of trauma patients in the trauma bay.

MAJOR CONTRIBUTIONS TO SCIENCE AND/OR HEALTH CARE DELIVERY

Evelyn strives to improve provision of care to socially exclused populations in the emergency department. She was the co-founder and co-lead (July 2018-June 2022) for the EDACS (Equity, Diversity, Advocacy, and Cultural Safety) curriculum for Emergency Medicine Residents at the University of Toronto. She was also the EDI co-lead for the St. Michael’s Emergency Deparmtent (July 2019 to June 2022). She is a clinician-teacher at the University of Toronto, with a particular focus on trauma resuscitation and management.
