AREA OF RESEARCH

Hassan is passionate about clinical research and his focus is on smoking/vaping cessation and the use of digital health technology to improve patient care. Dr. Mir has received over $1 million in peer-reviewed grant funding and managed over $10 million in operational knowledge translation grants relating to smoking cessation.

MAJOR CONTRIBUTIONS TO SCIENCE AND/OR HEALTH CARE DELIVERY

Healthcare delivery: Chair of the Ottawa Model for Smoking Cessation. System-based smoking cessation program implemented in 500+ sites supporting 500,000+ people. Chair of the virtual care health heart team.
Digital Health Technology Assessment: Developed, implemented, and evaluated several digital health technologies.
Health Research Methodology: Multiple systematic reviews and meta-analyses. I have also been a co-author and primary panel member of two guideline committees.
Tobacco and E-Cigarette Research: I have been involved in tobacco control policy over the past decade. I continue to work on implementing a systematic approach to smoking cessation in Canada and beyond.
