Using clinical neuroscience appoaches to better characterize depression and suicide. Ongoing research investigates the biological underpinnings and consequences of depression and suicide using magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) and peripheral biomarkers, tests the efficacy of ketamine to treat depression in patients resistant to other forms of treatment, and applies machine learning algorithms to electronic medical record data to predict suicide attempt risk post-hospital discharge.
