MAJOR CONTRIBUTIONS TO SCIENCE AND/OR HEALTH CARE DELVIERY

Dr. Casaubon has been in academic clinical practice in stroke/vascular neurology for just over 15 years. She is the Founder of the TIA and Minor Stroke (TAMS) Unit, for which she received an AFP Innovation Fund Award in 2011. The TAMS Unit replicates an inpatient stay in an outpatient day-unit model, and has improved care for thousands of patients – reducing their risk of disabling stroke – and avoided countless hospital admissions, while providing comprehensive 7-day/week care. Dr. Casaubon has also held various Stroke leadership roles, including as Medical Director for her hospital and regional network, leading national guideline development, and currently as the inaugural provincial Clinical Lead for Stroke at Ontario Health, allowing her to contribute to improving healthcare delivery.
