Michael Dinsmore is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Anesthesia and Pain Medicine at the Toronto Western Hospital. Prior to his medical career, he completed a PhD in Biochemistry from the University of Saskatchewan and post-doctoral research and development on medical diagnostic biosensors using nanotechnology in both Vancouver and San Diego before returning home to Saskatchewan to complete his medical degree. He completed his residency training in Anesthesia at the University of Toronto and a fellowship in Neuroanesthesia at the Toronto Western Hospital. His research program is focused on the innovation and development of new technologies in Anesthesia, opioid sparing strategies following spine surgery as well as the clinical application of transorbital ultrasonography.
