I am a proponent of evidence based medicine and have conducted large observational studies as well as randomized controlled trials evaluating Helicobacter pylori population screening, inflammatory bowel disease, functional GI disease and gastro-esophageal reflux disease.

MAJOR CONTRIBUTIONS TO SCIENCE AND/OR HEALTH CARE DELIVER

We were the first to show that fecal microbiota transplant may be effective in active ulcerative colitis in a randomized trial.  We were also the first to show that aspirin and acid suppression can prevent neoplastic progression in Barrett’s esophagus.
